Trans-Digi Global is a Singapore-based Himel distributor and a Himel Elite Partner. Every Himel product we supply comes through the authorised channel, traceable to the manufacturer and backed by its warranty. This article explains what an authorised channel gives you in practice, what Himel’s Elite Partner Program involves, which Himel products we carry and the standards they are built to, and what our Himel project record looks like. What “authorised Himel distributor” means

An authorised distributor sources product through the manufacturer’s own channel. Himel describes itself as a global manufacturer and supplier of electrical products for low-voltage power distribution, final distribution, power management, motor control and protection, industrial components and home electric applications. According to Himel’s partner page, its channel supports more than 100 distributors and 6,700 resellers across more than 50 countries.

Our partners page states the principle we work to: “Everything we supply is traceable to its source, with the documentation to prove it.” For you, that has four practical results:

• Genuine, traceable product. No grey-market sourcing, so the item in your panel is the item on the datasheet.
• A manufacturer warranty that will be honoured if something goes wrong.
• Technical escalation to the manufacturer when a question goes beyond the datasheet.
• Supporting documentation for tender submissions and as-built records.

The Himel Elite Partner Program, in Himel’s words

Himel runs a partner programme it calls the Elite Partner Program (EPP). In its article Driving Excellence with the Elite Partner Program, Himel says the programme offers “a suite of exclusive benefits designed to elevate our partners’ capabilities and market presence” through “specialized training, certifications, and priority support”.

The same article describes a three-day EPP meeting in China that included:

• factory tours and walkthroughs of Himel’s testing facilities and logistics operations;
• service policy training on industrial automation and control products, including variable speed drives (VSDs), control transformers, miniature relays and digital time switches;
• hands-on training sessions intended to make participants “certified experts, ready to provide exceptional after-sales service”;
• shared application stories from HVAC, crane, pumping, ventilation and crushing duties.

The Himel range we supply in Singapore

Our partners page describes Himel as “our locally stocked flagship range… This is where our stock depth is.” The table summarises the main families. Ratings are taken from Himel’s Panel Builder brochure. Exact ratings depend on the model, so always confirm against the datasheet for the part you order.

Standards and Singapore approvals

The standards behind the products

Low-voltage protective devices are designed and type-tested to IEC product standards. The ones most often seen on Himel datasheets are:

• IEC 60898-1: circuit-breakers for household and similar installations, up to 440 V AC and 125 A. Himel’s brochure cites it for the HDB9 MCB.
• IEC 60947-2: circuit-breakers for circuits up to 1,000 V AC, intended to be operated by instructed or skilled persons. Himel’s brochure cites it for the HDM3 MCCB.
• IEC 60947-4-1: electromechanical contactors and motor-starters.

In Singapore, installations themselves are designed to SS 638. The Energy Market Authority lists SS 638 as a Code of Practice stipulated under the Electricity (Electrical Installations) Regulations, and its standards page names SS 638 as the Code of Practice for Electrical Installations. Supplying the datasheets and certificates that support compliance with these standards is part of our job.

HDB approval and green building credentials

Two Singapore-specific credentials support specifying Himel drives on building projects:

• HDB use. Our Tengah Plantation C1 case study records that the Himel HAVSP series is approved for use in HDB projects.
• SGBP certification. The HAVSP Smart Pump Series holds Singapore Green Building Product certificate SGBP 6163, rated Excellent (3 ticks), issued to Trans-Digi Global on 27 November 2025 and valid to 26 November 2027, covering models HAVSP4T0022P to HAVSP4T3150P.

The Singapore Green Building Council explains that SGBP-certified products can earn points towards a project’s Green Mark rating under BCA’s scheme. Products with more ticks earn more points. Certified products are listed in the SGBP directory.

What these projects taught us

• Replacement work is about the existing system. At Republic Polytechnic and Singapore Polytechnic, the new drives had to run with each campus’s existing control system. At Singapore EXPO and Gateway East, they had to start motors that had been in service for more than a decade. We confirm the controls and motor condition before quoting, not after delivery.
• Specifications get tested on site. At ST Aerospace we measured and monitored each drive’s harmonic level during commissioning to show that the less-than-35% THDi requirement was met.
• Life-safety duties need careful set-up. At Tengah Plantation C1, the HAVSP’s fire override mode keeps carpark fans running at higher speed for smoke purging. At Boathouse Residences, the upgraded carpark ventilation system went on to support the condominium’s SCDF fire test.
• Space and cabling count on retrofits. At Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, the HAVSP’s compact footprint simplified the replacement and helped reduce cable requirements.

How we support a Himel order, step by step

1. Send what you have. The motor rating, a board schedule, an existing part number or a photo of the nameplate is enough to start. We respond the same business day.
2. Selection and sizing. We match the product to the duty, supply voltage and quantity, and add the right accessories.
3. Lead time confirmed before you order. Selected common ratings are held in local stock. For anything else, we confirm the lead time before you place the order.
4. Documentation. Technical datasheets and supporting documents for submissions and as-built packs.
5. Installation and panel integration, if you need it: mounting, power and control wiring, termination, and reactors, filters or braking accessories.
6. Testing and commissioning. Parameter configuration, PID and setpoint set-up, pump cascade and sleep/wake functions, BMS interface checks, functional testing and handover records.
7. After-sales support. Troubleshooting, periodic inspection, settings kept on record, and replacement planning for ageing or discontinued equipment.

When Himel is not the right answer

Being a Himel Elite Partner does not mean we will push Himel into every panel. We also supply Schneider Electric, WEG, INVT and Carlo Gavazzi products. Our partners page puts it this way: “Where a specification names a particular brand, we supply it. Where it doesn’t, we’ll recommend based on the duty, the lead time and the commercial position — and we’ll explain the reasoning.” If another range suits your duty better, we will tell you and explain why.
