Project Overview
Singapore EXPO is one of Singapore’s major exhibition and convention venues, hosting exhibitions, conferences and large-scale events throughout the year.
Its HVAC infrastructure relies on cooling towers, chilled-water pumps and condenser-water pumps to support cooling throughout the facility. The existing VSDs had been in service for many years, and the project called for a replacement solution that could reduce ongoing maintenance costs while remaining compatible with the existing motor infrastructure.
A key requirement was ensuring the new drives could reliably start and operate motors that had already been in service for more than ten years.
Solution Provided
Trans-Digi supplied Himel HAVSP Smart Pump Series VSDs in 7.5 kW and 37 kW ratings for the facility’s cooling towers, chilled-water pumps and condenser-water pumps.
The new HAVSP units replaced the existing European-brand VSDs and were configured to operate with the facility’s existing motors. Particular attention was given to compatibility and reliable motor operation because the motors had already been in service for more than ten years.
The replacement arrangement also helped optimise cabling requirements, supporting lower installation costs. Trans-Digi completed testing and commissioning to verify correct VSD operation before successful project handover.
