Singapore Technologies Aerospace Engineering engaged Trans-Digi to provide Himel HAVSP Smart Pump Series VSDs for the chilled-water and condenser-water systems at its new aviation centre in Seletar Aerospace Park. The project also required compliance with a harmonic distortion limit of less than 35% THDi.
Project Overview
The new aviation centre at Seletar Aerospace Park required variable speed drives to control motors serving the chilled-water and condenser-water systems.
In addition to the normal VSD operating requirements, the project specification imposed a harmonic requirement of less than 35% THDi, making harmonic performance a key acceptance criterion for the installed drives.
Solution Provided
Trans-Digi supplied Himel HAVSP Smart Pump Series VSDs for the chilled-water and condenser-water applications at the aviation centre.
Testing and commissioning were carried out for the installed drives, including measurement and monitoring of the actual harmonic level of each VSD to verify that the project’s THDi requirement was met before handover.
